Silvatone Studios Started way back in 1991 when the dream of a 16 year old kid came true. That was the year Dan daSilva asked his parents if they could loan him the money to buy a fully opperational 16 track recording studio from a man that taut him the in's and out's of how to record 2 years earlier. So with money in hand and his parents blessing the purchase was made and a start to a new beginning in the music buisness started. Silvatone Studios first started off as Silva Studios was just easier to get a buisness license than wait for a fictitious buisness name as for a loctation Dan didn't need to go far since he already rent a space in Downtown Napa at 1141 First st. were he had a his rehearsal space he just transformed that area into his studio thanks to friends and family who help him set it all together. The studio was in a perfect location in the middle of downtown a big parking lot right behind it but unfortunatly no recording could be done during the day since it was loctated above what was at that time known as Napa Valley Keyboards a buisness were they sold Piano, Keyboards ect. but also too Dan was still in high school but right after school Dan would go down and start getting thing ready to have sessions right when the store closed and session at times would last till three in the morning. This all went on foe a couple years until Dan decided he wanted to pursue to play in a professional rock band that lasted for awhile but it just wqsn't for him he missed the fun off recording. Unfortunatley after returning home from his adventure his downtown location was no longer available so his thought was he was purchasing a home why not tranfer the garage into a sound proof room and living room into a controll room and call it good and at that tinme which was 1995 is when the name changed to Silvatone Studios and as it is till this day right in the middle of Dan's house.

daSilva Records started back in 2010 as just somethng fun to do Dan had so many projects of his own going on was not think about shopping them to major lables so he just decided why not just start my own indie label and so that started. All bands Dan started recording just started ending up on his label and at his best would promote them, help them get shows and do as much as he could on a small budget like he said it was never to become anything big just something fun to do and like the website says “Just a home grown studio & label that's not famous but has the love for music”

Hello everyone my name is Dan daSilva also known as just Dan Silva and yes also known as The Witch Doctor. Just going to give you a little history about myself nothing to long to bore you. Started playing the Keys when i was 12 years old a friend of the family got me into it but even younger than that there was always music playing in the house either it being Portugues Music or Country and maybe a little of Elvis Presley those sounds always gave me peace and made me feel good. So after playing the Keys for about a year I got my first electric guitar a blue sunburdst Arbor Explorer which i still own to this day but it's no longer blue. I had no clue on how to play it so went down to my local music store and bought an amp for it came home plug it and the guitar in and turned it up and there was feedback at that point I just felt like Hendrix that feedback may have been noise to people but to me it was melody. So i took a couple of lessons from a friend and from there on just started learning on my own writing songs starting bands and so forth. My next adventure came about simply because of a band I was in lost there drummer and everyone was goin to throw in the towel and I said no I will learn how to play drums and there i became a drummer samething went hand in hand with the bass guitar just a diffrent band. So I started going back and forth playing with numerous band playing guitar, bass & drums at one time I was in 5 diffrent bands yah you can call me crazy. So during this period of being a Musician I started also picking up on the recording part of music a good friend and Boss since I worked for him at his music store started teaching me the ropes of recording at first it was go get me a burger or a beer but then became how to set up microphones how to set levels how to EQ instruments my world was growing with sound. So after a year of being in the studio and learning my Boss turns to me and says HEY KID! you intersted in buying my gear will we all know where that went the answer was yes and that started my new journey of having a recording studio and where I am today a Musician/Engineer & Producer. Hope I didn't bore you much I could have kept on going for hours but then you would get to the rest of the website hope you enjoy the music from all my years of playing and enjoy the bands I had the privallage and engineering & producing.
